ENTROPY

A circuit that ages while it runs. Free, for good.

ENTROPY is a small circuit: a classic amp tone stack, a coupling capacitor and a soft clipper. Its parts start off-value, drift as the room warms and cools, and wear slowly as the session goes on, so tone and saturation move the way old gear does.

  • Pick an era.

From the 1950s to modern, the era sets what the parts are made of and how they misbehave.

  • Set how loose, and how fast.

TOLERANCE sets how far the parts start from their marked values. DRIFT RATE runs from frozen to unstable. DEPTH scales it all.

  • The same render, every time.

Each session has a five-digit seed. Lock it and the ageing follows your timeline: loop a section and it ages the same way on every pass, jump back and it un-ages. Reroll for a different circuit.

What it's modelled on.

Real component tolerances, the 1%, 5% and 10% bands printed on resistors, plus parts that drift with temperature and a coupling capacitor that slowly leaks.

The conductor.

Put one ENTROPY on your master and link the other plugins to it. They take its drift, tolerance, seed and room temperature, and each keeps its own circuit and era. It works even when your DAW runs plugins in separate processes.

No code, no reminder, and it stays free.
